Travelling in Thailand is not difficult. With friendly locals & a reliable transport system, you should have no problem arranging your own transportation to & from the Khao Sok area.

If, however, you prefer to spare yourself the hassle, Limestone Lake Rainforest Tours will be happy to arrange your transfers for you.

We can advise you on flight, train and bus timetables and also arrange train and vehicle transport to and from major towns and cities. Just tell us where you need to go and when you need to be there and we'll let you know your options and make your reservations for you. Easy! And one less thing you have to worry about. Getting to and from Khao Sok and Chieow Laan Lake

By Air:

Surat Thani airport is the closest airport to Khao Sok National Park and Chieow Laan Lake - just an hour from the lake and two hours from Khao Sok National Park headquarters.

Other convenient airports in the region include Krabi and Phuket.

We will be happy to provide you with details of airlines which travel these routes.

By Rail:

Surat Thani (Phun Phin) railway station is the closest railway station to Khao Sok National Park and Chieow Laan Lake - an hour from the lake and two hours from Khao Sok National Park headquarters. Trains arrive and depart regularly during the day and evening.

One of the most popular modes of transport to and from Bangkok is the overnight sleeper train. Trains also head south to Haad Yai, Malaysia and Singapore.

By Road:

Buses run regulary during daylight hours from Khao Sok to either Phuket or Surat Thani. There is also a once daily public minivan service from Khao Sok to Krabi.

From Chieow Laan Lake, the closest bus service is in the nearby town of Baan Takun (about 20 minutes away). Buses from Baan Takun also run regularly to Phuket and Surat Thani.

Alternatively, minivans and private vehicles are available for hire to transport you to and from Khao Sok and Chieow Laan Lake. We recommend, however, that these services are booked with us in advance to ensure availability.

If you are travelling to Chieow Laan Lake and do not have your own hire vehicle, please note that there is no public transport available between the closest town (Baan Takun) & the lake. We will be happy to arrange a transfer vehicle for you at a nominal fee.
